The champions of the 2024 season of Cognizant Major League Cricket (MLC), Washington Freedom, are the first professional cricket team from Washington, D.C. The team was announced in 2023 as one of six inaugural franchises to play in the league. The team is owned by Mr. Sanjay Govil, an Indian-born American entrepreneur who has a passionate belief in the power of sport to unite and inspire. As an organization, we pride ourselves on inclusivity, positivity, and the collective goal of building American cricket.
